On Saturday we're going to do something different for three reasons: to get out of the hills; to honor Joe McBride; and to benefit Anchor House.
Joe McBride and Jim Golis were friends. Jim's son, Cory, died on an Anchor House ride. In Cory's honor, Cory's Ride is held every year to benefit Anchor House. Joe participated in this ride every year. And Joe didn't like hills. So there you have it.
What we're going to do is ride from Mercer County Park's East Picnic Area to the Tall Cedars Picnic Grove, where Cory's Ride starts. We'll do the 50-mile route and go back to the park, for a total of about 75 miles.
The suggested starting time for the 50-mile route is 8:00 a.m., but we'll get there later than that. Registration for Cory's Ride is $35.
Meet at the Mercer County Park East Picnic Area on Edinburg Road at 7:30 a.m.
Pace pushers can get to Cory's Ride on their own.

I'm in. I was on the fence about doing the Cory's Ride or ridin' with the Slugs... and here are the Slugs doin' Cory's ride. I'll be at the park on Saturday morning, with a check in a dry bag in my pocket.
