West Coast Smoke

1 August 2021

The sun had been up for about an hour when I woke up on July 21. The light coming through the windows was strangely orange for 7 a.m. The west coast is on fire. The smoke had made its way east. I took some pictures from inside.

The screen messed with the light.

I went to the only other east-facing window for an unobstructed view.

I was in the back yard being a spider paparazzi the next night when I noticed that the full moon was orange too. The color didn't come through much in the pictures, which I took freehand and didn't edit:

I guess this is the new summer now.
