Brain parts?
what hat happens when I sneeze into petri dish
Close, Dale. Could you be more specific?
Smolenyak, the bits are sitting in warm paraffin. One sneeze and they'll be shaken out of order.
What was left of Laura`s brain after her first century with me.LOL
I wish I could be more specific. They remind me of the slices of brain I worked with years ago in a biology class, but I am unsure of what part of the brain they belong or from what being they came. I am so curious! A human brain? Hypothalamus? Hypocampus?
Dale: No; it's in there; it's in there. (It's "hippocampus," btw, where hippos go to learn.)
Is it mentioned in this video?

Thalamous? (I think is has the correct shape.) You know, if you keep this up I'm going learn something in spite of myself. :-)
Great video! I should watch it a few more times and memorize it.
Anyway, I got an email with the correct guess: mouse brain. However, the email came from my father, who knows what I do for work 'cause I gave him the details a few weeks ago. So all y'all should get a prize just for guessing.
Anyway, what you're looking at is the right hemisphere of a mouse brain that has been fixed in formaldehyde, sliced front-to-back, and fixed in paraffin. The slices are sitting at the bottom of a small, metal tray, in hot paraffin, about to be embedded in the paraffin. When it solidifies we cut 6 micron segments from the block and mount them on slides. Then we can do all sorts of staining to look at morphology and pathology.
Pretty cool, huh?
I was right=Laura`s brain after her first cebtury! lol
