Hill Slugs Ad Hoc, Saturday, 22 June

20 June 2013

Saturday's ride will be a hilly metric century with two rest stops.  Ridewithgps puts the elevation gain above 5000 feet, so bring your climbing gears and be prepared for a long, but scenic, day.

First we'll go to Cocoluxe in Peapack, because chocolate mice.

Then we'll go to Round Valley Reservoir, because Round Valley Reservoir.

We'll start from parking lot #4 at Raritan Valley Community College at 8:30 a.m.

There is an entrance to the college on Lamington Road and another on Route 28.  If you're coming in from Route 28, follow the main entrance road to the left and all the way around towards the back.  There will be signs for lot #4 when you get close to the lot.

In response to your previous post: 62 miles at an average of 14.5 mph (which may be too fast, if this route is that hilly) is 4:27, plus, say, 45 minutes with stops and breaks, is as near as makes no difference to five and a quarter hours. That's back to the cars at about 2:15.

I'm in... barring weather, insurrection, or the Zombie Apocalypse (and the weather, for one, looks good).
